About the Major Public Art Project:
A partnership between the Winnipeg Arts Council Public Art Program and the Winnipeg Cultural Capital of Canada 2010 project permitted a combination of resources to commission a major public art piece that celebrates the arts in Winnipeg. The piece, which will be located at the Millennium Library Park, will be the largest Public Art project in Winnipeg to date.
The work, emptyful, was created by Vancouver artist Bill Pechet. Bill Pechet was selected from over one hundred national and international applicants who responded to a Call-for-Artists to create a site specific work that incorporates water and light.
All information and news after 2011 can be found on the Winnipeg Arts Council website: www.winnipegarts.ca/emptyful
