Trio Bembe is comprised of dynamic vocalist Amber Epp, award-winning percussionist Scott Senior, and popular Latin band-leader Rodrigo Muñoz (guitar, voice and percussion). The Latin rhythms of Cuba, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Colombia, and Spain are the focus of this trio, though they also perform music from the jazz idiom as well as original material. Trio Bembe debuted at the 2009 Jazz Winnipeg Festival, but the three musicians have been performing together in various capacities for several years. Each has a strong background of stage experience, and together they create music that is graceful, danceable, and absolutely infectious. The self-titled album, “Trio Bembe”, released on Nov 23, 2009, is a welcome addition to the high-level Latin music coming out of Winnipeg.
