About the River Barge Festival:
Five days of celebration, entertainment and cultural experience are planned, free of charge, as a gathering for all of Winnipeg. Located at the junction of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers at the historic Forks, a barge will float along the river banks as audiences gather to enjoy the events in an atmosphere of fun and high expectation. The program will be pan-cultural, changing each day to include Aboriginal performance, representation from culturally diverse performing arts groups, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Manitoba Theatre Centre, other local and national favourites. This is an all-encompassing celebration that embraces popular culture, diversity and the performing arts.
