Jessica McMann Hoop Dancer

Jesse McMann-Sparvier has been dancing for 8 years. A Cree native from Cowessess First Nation, she started dancing with Wandering Spirit Native Awareness in Calgary, Alberta and was introduced to hoop dance by Alex Wells. She has traveled as far as Inuvik, Pheonix and over seas to perform.  She has also taught workshops at schools in Winnipeg, Calgary, Rural Alberta and Manitoba.  Currently she is taking dance training and attending the University of Manitoba Jazz Studies program.  
This is a first showing of a segment of a work-in-progress she has been developping.  She has choreographed one other piece in 2007. The performers in this peice are from all ages and the peice emphasizes the butterfly spirit and family. The performers are: Brian Clyne, Jesse-McMann-Sparvier, Shanley Spence, Kayla McPherson, Ian Hotomani, and Petey Parisian.
