Close Encounters of the -30 Kind
Up Close and Personal with the artists and curators of Close Encounters: The Next 500 Years


A unique opportunity is being offered to Winnipeg art lovers as part of the upcoming exhibition Close Encounters: The Next 500 Years. On Sunday, January 23rd, bus tours are being offered that will travel to each of the Close Encounters venues and will feature brief talks from artists and curators about the work being featured. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet some of the creative minds involved with this remarkable exhibition, and a chance to get “up close and personal” with some cutting edge artwork.

WHAT: Bus Tours: Close Encounters of the -30 (minus thirty) Kind: Up Close and Personal with the artists and curators of Close Encounters: The Next 500 Years

WHEN: Sunday, January 23rd 12:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

WHERE: Close Encounters venues including Manitoba Hydro Place, Main Exhibition Site, Plug In ICA, Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Manitoba Museum

Close Encounters: The Next 500 Years will be the largest international exhibition of contemporary Indigenous art ever held in North America.  Close Encounters is being presented by the Winnipeg Cultural Capital of Canada ARTS FOR ALL Program. It has been organized by Plug In ICA, the Winnipeg Art Gallery and URBAN SHAMAN: Contemporary Aboriginal Art and other partnering organizations.
